Human nature craves clues, figurative elements that make it possible to verbally express the relationship between the subject and reality. However, figurative elements are merely a vessel to convey intimacy and comfort to the viewer.

I am trying to transcend the role of photography from a repetitive process of replication of the world around us, to a creative act of production. Expressionistic impressions with little or no reference to reality. A lack of shadows, three-dimensionality, and figurative inferences.

My latest work is more reminiscent of a painting than a photograph.
